>>98871I don’t care I’m bumping this. Yes, I’m 23 and feel this exact same way about video games. I regret having ever gotten into them as a kid. I was never addicted but I wasted too much time on them as well as the internet. I 100% regret playing Siege and Roblox with my high school friends after school instead of actually going outside and making real life memories. I have nothing to look back on except for like two trips to the mall. Video games were all a waste except for playing local multiplayer games with family and friends as a kid.
I deleted my Steam account last year out of shame. 2/3rds of the games I owned were 3D platformers, Sonic games, and quirky indie games. I just felt incredibly embarrassed by it all. I think I’m okay at masking it but that account was a dead giveaway I’m autistic. I can’t enjoy that cartoony bullshit anymore anyway, it feels like troonslop now.
I don’t regret playing arcade games with my friends or Nintendo 64 with my cousins, because I was actually making real life memories with other people. Otherwise, it pains me that I was ever attached to video games. I’ve been tempted to pick up a Dreamcast or OG Xbox recently but I need to let it go.
