on an IDE you can use a debugger
you can jump to the definition of a function with a click or a shortcut
you have the IDE do static analysis of the code for you
you get suggestions on how to reformat your code
you have plugins that can do a shit ton of stuff, depending on what you need
a built in file manager
you useful features like the possibility of setting bookmarks to certain lines of code, instead of having to write "//niggerfaggot" above your code
and so on, IDEs have so much features that most people use maybe 20% of them
but the thing is, you dont have any of that on your terminal notepad
