I was there when it happened. It felt like a tragedy worse than 9/11 could've ever been unfolding right before my very eyes.
I was schizo posting on /x/ when all of a sudden, at approximately 10:00 PM EDT, I hear Night Of Nights start to play.
At first I thought it was a video playing, but I didn't click on any video, nor does /x/ allow videos with sound.
I looked at my browser tabs was able to verify that the sound was in fact emanating from 4chan.
I scrolled up in the current thread trying to find that video that I thought was playing, because what else could it have possibly been?
I saw 3 Hatsune Mikus dancing and a big red title saying something along the lines of "SOYJAK.PARTY WON - /QA/ HAS BEEN REOPENED."
My first reaction to this was "holy shit, /qa/ is back!" and went there immediately. I was wondering why they would say soyjak party won,
but I just brushed it off as 4chan admins being retarded as always, I didn't think anything of it. I went on /qa/ and it was flooded with posts,
so much so that the whole entire site slowed down immensely. /qa/ was indeed back. But this wouldn't last. I was incapable of posting anything. Not on /qa/, not on any board.
I assumed the site was so slow because everyone rushed over to post on /qa/ and there was just so much traffic, as I was looking at the already existing posts, I saw something strange,
Hiroyuki "himself" was making posts saying "U GOT HACKED LOL" which made me wonder, "what the fuck is actually going on?" But at this point still, I just assumed the site admins were just playing
a joke. The site was so slow that there was no point in doing anything, I just went to bed and hopped on the next day to see the site has completely shut down.
At 11:00 AM local time I woke up as I barely got any sleep that night and immediately went onto 4chan. The site was gone. Nothing loaded. At that point I immediately went on Soyjak Party to see
if there's ANY information about what has been happening. /soy/ was flooded with 4chan refugees and My Little Pony posters. I have found a megathread about the hack where it finally dawned on me. 4chan
has indeed been hacked. I read the posts and tried to gather as much info as I could, as it turns out from the leaked /j/ screenshots, jannies are in fact furries. Everything else I already forgot about
because I didn't care enough to remember. As of now it has been 10 days. 10 miserable days without 4chan.
