These are the four main elements of alchemy. The down-pointing triangle represents sulphur (soul, anima, sun), mercury (spirit, spiritus, moon) and salt (body, corpus, saturn). The seven-pointed star represents the seven planets (other than earth and pluto), mercury, venus, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus and neptune.
