>>75579buying discs, even on the playstation, is way better then purchasing them online. For context I took my ps4 out of storage since I needed a heckin dvd player and since I sold all of my old ps4 games, all I had was the games tied to the dead PSN account my dad made when I was 8, which I obviously didnt have access to since it signs you out after a while.
I had games whcih costed god knows how much money with hundreds of hours spent, whcih was basically my childhood, completely inaccessible all because i didnt have a password. This is the issue with having something as valuable as video games being online only, YOU DONT OWN ANYTHING! At least with physical copies you can reuse them and play offline, as soon as you forget a password or lose your internet access, that game you spent 50 pounds on becomes worthless.
Also discs are not easily damaged, its not something as delicate as a vinyl as people treat it. They also last insanely long meaning you can have CD's or DVDs from the 1990s that can still be used in the 2030s.
I dont mind movies or music being tied to streaming (they werent worth much anyway) but videogames is something else. Games cost too much money and require too much time to consume for them to be online only
