Not really except for Fromsoft games (the only good ones were Dark Souls 1 and Sekiro doe) and SMT. Also when I was in high school I played Yakuza 0 and kiwami 1 and 2 and that was before the remastered 3-6 came out on PC.

This shit gets glazed to hell and back, but for a good reason, almost every other japrpg is a horribly paced slop with large segments of mindless grinding, nothing happening or "where the fuck do I go" gameplay
In chrono triggered the game is very well paced + they at least tried making the basic jrpg turned based combat somewhat interesting

I nignored all discussions I saw about the game before playing it and I am glad I did because it let me go into the game with no expectations. Because of that I thought it was a pretty good game.
