I think "high-end" computers as toys will start to die out and go back to a wealthy businessman or hobbyist purchase. Having large amounts of compute at home just doesn't make any sense when it has so much value in the economy that is extremely underutilized in the home. See

PvP slop mostly runs on potatoes anyway. Its basically thinclient already. Physics and bot logic is handled on the server while the client just renders the snca on screen. I mostly mean AAA titles that try to push multiple envelopes at once. Think like what HL2 was at the time

IT doesn't have to take a lot of compute. It's enough that it demands too much in any area the desktop can't handle, like CPU draw calls. It also doesn't have to be consistent over time. It can have larger spikes than something running locally.
