You really don't need to hit the OOM and crash when using some tools on UE, you can dev with a weak card, but you need to script the changes in, first. Probably like that with optimization as well. But it's not a big issue, if you pace yourself and pick a type of gameplay that doesn't even require a lot of resources.
I'd imagine Epic Games only stands to lose from any kind of cloud gaming transition. At that point, those huge companies can whip up server-side engines under their generative AI layers and just ignore UE.
One good thing about cloud gaming would be completely not caring about the shape of resources you're using at any given time. Big battle and demands hitting 99x normal? No issue. But of course, corporations will make it suck.
