The linux community makes me fucking leak. I needed to install a telnet server on one of the company servers this morning (it needed to be telnet because they said so) and I have never done that before. Looked it up online and was met with literally nothing except the occasional blogpost from 10 years ago that didn't work. As a last ditch effort, I joined the distribution's community IRC server and asked. I was met with 100 troons all fighting for the opportunity to tell me "you shouldn't use telnet, its Old and Insecure and I'm very smart and You should use ssh and you're Dumb for using telnet :3".
Then I just opened a fucking book and figured it out which I should've done from the start.
