Its a very very fast swap device. Basically a high latency memory extension in a lot of cases. It would fill a perfect niche in this economy

This is the only proper use of this stuff. Nobody needs a dedicated disk cache that big, and even them you can just use RAM (and by extension swap) for that anyway
