do i switch to linux? im on windows 10 (works perfectly, everything i need is on here) BUT ive been curious about linux and other operating systems (for the most part linux) can you guys recommend some good distros?

Linux mint is pretty much perfect, apart from quite older software and drivers sometimes
I also recommend Fedora, specifically the KDE edition, it has newer software, however it can (rarely) break.

You can use proton/wine and workarounds too but if you only keep the os for like 1 or 2 apps you could just use a vm or dual-boot worst case scenario

cachyOS is way faster than optimized win10 and win11 plus its easier to ramdisk your browsers etc

to do anything all you need to do is ask Gemini Pro or claude what terminal commands to paste

Using chatgpt is literally the advanced form of using stackoverflow btw. Its trained on it and you can see it as a smart database unless youre a contrarian edgelord with too much time than you know what to do with.
