Long story short, Mango (USA lead in TNO and the driving force behind all the bloated minigames) comes from The Campaign Trail, a borderline incomprehensible election sim with neutral-turned-libwank messaging (the OG game had neutral messaging, the mods turned it into libwank, also the game's creator supports the mods so complaining to him isn't an option). He and his clique has TCT in an iron grip, and those that didn't like it or those that Mango hates for some reason and were subsequently dragged through shit by his goons go to OpenTCT, where they make mods that make Mango's clitty leak. Mango is also """making""" a TCT mod called Project 2025, expected to be the ultimate "rethuglikkkan MAGAts are evil incarnate, all hail the DNC one-party state" and "holy fuck why are there so many buttons, I came to manage an election not a space shuttle" mod, so make sure to drench him, his clique and the mod in shit extra hard. Guangdong was pretty good, but only HOI4 thing it had was proxy wars, no actual wars and expansion.
On the other hand: actual UK content in the works, Athlanthropa, and Iberian Civil War content. That fades before the sheer kino that is 2WRW as Omsk.
I really hope we can put the two mods together to have both Athlanthropa and Guangdong for maximum gemerald quality.

I like Guangdong because it was just a really kino and well-built story, Kuzunoha was a genius writer and him leaving TNO was one of many nails in the coffin
It's also an unpopular stance but I actually like Antarctica again, I think it enriches the lore and world-building and I do wish there could have been a compromise between map reform without the autistic excess that happened under Yugo and Lamounier
