I’m a Canadian struggling financially and can’t afford to pay for the certifications necessary to work in food service and such. My resumé has 2 years of retail experience but every job I apply to still rejects me. I tried mentioning being a minority for brownie points in case any hiring managers were a lefty but that card didn’t work either. I have an appointment booked for a local employment help centre next Monday, but if that doesn’t work out what can I do?. I even tried asking for financial help but everyone refused, “I have my own financial problems”, sure I get that…but you can’t even spot a someone you know $5 so he can make it home safely?
