Due to extensive poaching and abuse of Gigaflies in the wild by Gigaphobes, the Gigafly population has dropped dramatically worldwide. The natural habitat of the Gigaflies has been mostly destroyed, and attempts to preserve them have been blocked by Gigaphobe groups worldwide. At this rate, the Gigafly is projected to go extinct by 202Ϫ. The loss of the natural symbiont of the Gigachad will also mean many Gigas worldwide are projected to become flyless as a result.
