Epic's justification for the change was "The cost of running Fortnite has gone up a lot and we’re raising prices to help pay the bills.”
Here are the new amounts for each pack in USD:
$8.99 - 800 V-Bucks (was 1,000)
$22.99 - 2,400 V-Bucks (was 2,800)
$36.99 - 4,500 V-Bucks (was 5,000)
$89.99 - 12,500 V-Bucks (was 13,500)
Battle Pass completion reward - 800 V-Bucks (was 1,500)
These adjustments indicate that the value of V-Bucks has effectively doubled, with 50 units jumping from $0.50 to $0.99
