After calling for SNAP elections, Sanae Takaichi, the leader of the right wing Liberal Democratic Party, led her coalition to victory in the lower house of the National Diet, winning a little over two thirds of all the seats. Her mandate as prime minister is now solidified following three years of instability within the Japanese right wing after the death of Shinzo Abe.
