like think about all the stuff that boomed in the 90's

>hip hop becomes massive
>ska
>Y2K aesthetic
>grunge
>nu metal
>trance/rave music/house music/IDM golden age
>R&B becomes trendy
>dragon ball/pokemon
>sony/nintendo
>memphis design aesthetic
>global village aesthetic
>gen x soft club aesthetic

all this stuff was happening at the same time.
