Anglagard and Anekdoten are the closest to classic King Crimson you can get.
I also listen to a lot of neo prog, if you like Marillion, check out IQ, Pendragon and Arena (got to listen to more of Twelfth Night and Pallas)

For me king crimson is what really got me into exploring more experimental music, it was kinda like a gateway into my music taste.

Imagine Dragons is better and I have proof
Look at Spotify, the best and only good way to listen to music
King Crimson: 1.2 million monthly listeners
Imagine Dragons: 52.1 million monthly listeners
Well King Cramson fans are probably hipster bluds who still refuse to switch to Spotify even in the Big 26, so I will be generious and estimationate that they have about 2 million listeners in the world. Even then Imagine Dragons is proven to be 25 times better.
