American Rhythmic System is West African and was brought by slaves. The blues was created by black people but like ones living in the usa same with soul music and gospel so this gets a little further reaching when you apply it to metal let's say but goes for most pop and more conventional rock prior to psychedelia. So it might be "created by black people" but not ones living in africa or use an african rhythmic system but still resemble the blues in some aspects which you'll see in rock music mostly. Like Hendrix was maybe not using an africa rhythmic system but was still using tonal elements from the blues or soul music. But AS A GENERAL CONCEPT this mostly applies ti the rhythmic systems used in pop,jazz,some country music,etc.
