I used to live in Magdalena for a few years (to clarify, I originate in the andes) and it smelled like shit due to the poor sewer infraestructure, the people were generally tan-borwn mestizo (as the majority of Afro-Colombians concentrate in the pacific coast) and the people were very scummy if they perceived you as an outsider even if you both were Colombian. Ironically when I went on vacations to Cordoba where I saw more blacks they were nicer to me in general.
