javascript for easy prototyping and debugging, great for first project
skip oop, composition is all you need, but learn design patterns though
then learn haskell/javascript for functional programming (python filter map chain syntax sucks)
also learn sql and regex

almost any FAGMAN company has important projects (APIs and microservices often) built with a functional language, often that is Haskell, and tons of small and medium companies use it aswell
even if you lived in Zimbabwe you would find dozens of results if you searched for Haskell on Linkedin

not only Haskell and other FP languages are used every day by FAGMAN and small companies alike for real world applications, even a lot of imperative language have started to implement and encourage functional programming. Python, C#, Javascript and Typescript are all languages that are becoming more and more functional with every release

I never said that. I said it is academic & overly scientific. That means it was designed by scientists for doing science and math, not by engineers (who actually build languages for building useful things) and therefore it's completely useless. But you probably don't understand why science is le bad. If you can't write a kernel in it, why does it exist? At least BASIC will teach you about flow control, variables, input/output. It's shitty, but it's so simplistic that it is genuinely a good language for first-timers.

You try to argue that because functional approaches are viable, everyone has to love your abomination of a language, and then you'll start babbling about muh science, category theory, monads, and all that other shit that nobody needs to build a program. I WILL NOT read your paper and I WILL continue to program in a real language (protip: Rust also isn't a real language).
